Island Murter is situated near Vodice and Sibenik, in the middle of the Adriatic coast. As it is located close to the mainland there is a bridge to the island. Murter stands as a door to Kornati, a unique archipelago of islands and reefs, famous Croatian National Park, a real paradise for sailing. There are four settlements on the island. Betina and Murter are in the north of the island, Tisno is located where the island is connected to the mainland and Jezera to the south. Murter has about 1,000 beds in private rooms and apartments, a hotel and a marina, campsites and other necessary tourist facilities (there are even 37 restaurants). Nautical tourism is very strong here because there are two more marinas on the Kornati islands, and a number of fisherman's houses that are rented on Kornati as a type of Robinson tourism. The most famous beach is Slanica; a sandy beach. Betina also has everything needed for a pleasant vacation, marina, private apartments, as well as boat rental and a camp. Tisno is located near the bridge that crosses the sea. The place has a long beach that is followed by the shade of pine trees. You can stay in hotel, private accommodation or camp. Jezera is located 3 km from Tisno. There are also private apartments, marina, hotel and holiday resort and a great car camping there. Population traditionally go fishing so you can taste fish specialties here as is the case with the whole island.
